タクシードライバーが若者を救った話
A story taxi driver saved a young man
自殺しようとした事がある人はわかるかもしれないけど、その日俺は自殺する気なんて全くなかった。
Those who tried to commit suicide may understand, but that day I did not feel like committing suicide at all.
その日はクラブで酒を飲んで、ナンパも失敗だった。当時の俺は彼女なしの無職。
That day I drunk and fail to pick up a girl. At that time I was unemployed without girlfriend.
生活保護を受け、街で一番悲惨な地域のクソみたいな部屋に住んでたんだ。
I lived in welfare and lived in a shitty room like the wretched area in the city.
とにかくその状況から抜け出したかった。その時は気がつかなかったけど、俺はたぶん鬱だったと思う。
Anyway I wanted to get out of that situation. I did not notice at that time, but I think that I was probably depressed.
クラブを出てからタクシーを拾って、地元の高い橋に連れてってもらった。
I got a taxi after getting out from the club and the taxi brought me to a high bridge.
俺は飛び降りるつもりだったけど、タクシーの運転手に止められた。その橋は有名な自殺スポットだったからね。
I intended to jump off, but I was stopped by a taxi driver. That bridge was a famous suicide spot.
とにかく、運転手は橋のところまで運転して行って、タクシーを止めてエンジンを止めた。
Anyway, the driver drove to the bridge, stopped the taxi and stopped the engine.
そして彼は振り返って、「お前死ぬつもりか？」って聞いたんだ。
And turned back to me and he asked, “Are you going to die?”
俺は「そうだよ」って答えたよ。そしたら急に涙が溢れ出てきた…。
I replied “yes.” Then tears suddenly came out ….
そしたら運転手は勇気付ける話をしてくれたよ。
Then the driver told me an encouraging story.
運転手「人生は生きる価値がある。今は耐えろ。人生はただ長くて、何の変化もない道だと思われがちだけど、実際は驚きで溢れてる」
Driver: “Life is worth living, be patient now, life is just a long way, it seems to be a road with no change, but in reality it is full of surprises”
運転手「でもそれは年齢を重ねてみないとわからない。もし君にもう少し辛抱する意思があるなら、人生はたくさんの素晴らしい機会を投げかけてくれるはずだ」
Driver :”But you do not realize it until you get ages, and if you have a willingness to be patient, life will give you a lot of wonderful opportunities.”
それから彼は、女に振られても気にするなって励ましてくれたよ。
Then he encouraged me not to care about even if you were shaken by a woman.
君はハンサムな男だ。すぐに理想の女性に出会えるよ。もし今日橋から飛び降りなかったらの話だけどね、と言ってくれたよ。
Driver:”You are a handsome man. You can meet an ideal woman at once, if you try not to jump off the bridge today.”
タクシーの仕事を見つけてやるとまで言ってくれた…。
He even told me that he will find a taxi’s job for me ….
そのあと家まで送ってくれたよ、タクシー代もいらないと言ってくれた。別れ際に彼に電話番号を渡したら、1カ月間毎日電話で励ましてくれたよ。
After that, he sent me home, he said that he did not need a taxi fare. I gave him a phone number when we separate, he encouraged me by phone every day for a month.
そこから何とか生活を立て直して、地獄から抜け出すことができた。それから理想の女性と会って、仕事も見つかって、今は素晴らしい家に住むことができている。
From there I managed to restore my life and get out of hell. Then I met my ideal woman, I found a job, I am able to live in a wonderful house right now.
